The Northern Berkshire Chorale, a mixed voice adult chorus, was established in 2001 for the purpose of enjoying, learning, sharing and presenting choral music. We primarily sing standard classical music repertoire, supplemented by music of contemporary composers, pre-baroque era composers, as well as music of other traditions.
We typically produce two public concerts each year (winter and late spring); performances are presented with piano accompaniment and a capella, though one performance each year is often augmented by small orchestra, as budget permits. Information about our repertoire from past concerts may be found here.
The Chorale is open without audition to singers with a range of music reading abilities. Nominal dues are collected from the members; students sing for free. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that raises funds from performances, donations and various grants.
Rehearsals have traditionally been weekly during the fall and spring, on Monday evenings from 7:00-9:15pm, at Presser Choral Hall, Bernhardt Music Building, Williams College, in Williamstown, MA. The Chorale takes a break during the summer months.
